I think I broke my cheap tablet. Two cables connect the touchscreen to the board: one's thin, like this one; the other one is wider like this one (but without the silver section).

Would there be any way to use the screen on a PC? It doesn't have to be as a touchscreen, I'd be happy using it as a regular screen (VGA or HDMI).

You would need an LCD controller IC to display anything. It can be done but it is hard and there is no simple solution like wire-to-wire connection.

Thanks for your reply. It does seem very hard to find any solution to this kind of "problem", whereas I would have thought a lot more people would've had the same idea, really :/
I didn't find any remotely "ready-to-use" solutions. On another forum the idea was called "improbable" and "expensive" IIRC.

I did manage to connect the cables properly again properly (tweezers are very handy sometimes), though - so the tablet's in working condition again.
